Long Term Water Storage

Ken Jorgustin at the Modern Survival Blog writes about "Long Term Drinking Water Storage | How-To Recommendations." As he notes, most municipal water supplies have sufficient chlorine that you don't really need to treat the water, but he gives some advice on how much bleach to use if needed. You can use test strips designed for swimming pool owners to test the level of chlorine. He also discusses various storage containers. My wife and I use large drums, but smaller containers would definitely be nice if you thought you needed to move the containers around. Jorgustin recommends the Berkey filter. In theory, your stored water should be able to last for years, but Jorgustin's own practice is to replace the water once per year to avoid the water getting a "flat" taste.
