Good Riddance

The BBC reports that "Robert Mugabe, Zimbabwe's strongman ex-president, dies aged 95." Like a true socialist, he took power, became a dictator, and became extremely wealthy while his people starved. Mugabe had headed up the group Zanu (Zimbabwean African National Union), which was originally the guerrilla/terrorist group he led to overthrow the Rhodesian government, and which became a political party after Rhodesia became Zimbabwe. The critical role that Sweden played in supporting Zanu over Rhodesia and helping Zanu survive is often overlooked. Thus, there is a certain poetic justice to Sweden's current plight vis-a-vis its African immigrants.
