VIDEO: KazTac Wrapid Loader Tutorial

The KazTac Wrapid Loader is a revolver speed loader that can be flattened out to fit into a carrier (and thus easier to carry concealed, like a speed strip) but rolls up under spring pressure when withdrawn allowing it to be used like a speed loader. I have one of these that I tried and was worried that I might have damaged because it would often seem to stick on the last round. For that reason, I just stuck it away and haven't done anything with it for months. But this tutorial seems to indicate that this can be normal and is the result of being too careful with it--it needs to be briskly pulled to release all the cartridges.

  1. Thanks for posting this. As a revolver aficionado I'm always on the lookout for new and more efficient (faster) reloading methods for revolvers. However, despite a plethora of spring-loaded speedloaders, speed strips, moon clips and the like coming out over the years, I'm still favoring the original HKS design. It's simplicity is still the best for SHTF scenarios when microseconds count. Line up the bullet noses...shove them in the chambers...turn the knob and let gravity do the rest.

    1. Yup--HKS loaders have a lot going for them. They are inexpensive, widely available, come in lots of varieties to fit different calibers and models of firearms (most competitors are generally only for .38 Special/.357 Magnum and a limited number of models), and they are easier to load than competing products (looking at you, Safariland). These KazTac loaders are pricey compared to most speed loaders on the market, but are comparable to a metal magazine for a handgun, so not outlandish when you think of it from that perspective. The main issue is availability since they seem to be perpetually back ordered. So far, I've only one, although I would like to get a 5-round model to try with a J-frame.
