"The Lost Generation" Is Having Consequences

I had posted earlier this week about an article making the rounds through conservative websites and blogger: "The Lost Generation" by Jacob Savage. If you haven't read it, it starkly lays out how corporate America started actively discriminating against white men in hiring practices. This is something that has long been known, but the timing and exposure seems to be just right now to bring some consequences. And it has already started, with the Post Millennial reporting: "White men urged to report DEI-related discrimination to Equal Employment Opportunity Commission: Trump admin." The article begins:

The Trump administration has encouraged white males who have experienced discrimination at their workplace to report the incidents to the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). This comes after a bombshell report revealed that white millennial men were discriminated against in hiring in recent years, per Compact Magazine.

EEOC head Andrea Lucas posted to X, “Are you a white male who has experienced discrimination at work based on your race or sex?”

“You may have a claim to recover money under federal civil rights laws. Contact the @USEEOC as soon as possible, she added. “The EEOC is committed to identifying, attacking, and eliminating ALL race and sex discrimination — including against white male employees and applicants. Visit EEOC.gov to learn more and read our one-page explainer about DEI-related discrimination.”

The next step will be suits where white men were not hired either due to explicit policies discouraging the hiring of white men, or through a disparate impact theory where the policies appear neutral on their face but resulted in far fewer white men being hired. You can tell that Wall Street is already fearful of such lawsuits because of articles like this one from the Wall Street Journal: "Disparate-Impact Theory Is Unconstitutional" by Elizabeth Price Foley and Jason Torchinsky.
