ReplyDeleteAnd then what is next? "Tearing down" (beating up, maybe even murdering?) a FTM transgender teenager just trying to use the rest room? That is what this symbolizes and the message it sends; and you think/say "this is the way." It's definitely not "the way' Jesus taught. You should be ashamed of yourselves and re-examine what the Bible and Jesus teaches.

DeleteAnd what exactly did Jesus teach? Certainly not unlimited tolerance of sin and sinners. In fact, scripture is clear that no unclean thing can enter into the Kingdom of God:
--"And there shall in no wise enter into it [the New Jerusalem] any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life." Rev. 21:27.
--"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Romans 6:23.
--"Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven." Matt. 7:21.
--"But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death." Rev. 21:8.
--"Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God." Galatians 5:19-21.
--"Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind [i.e., homosexuals], Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God." 1 Corinthians 6:9-10.
And many more. Christ demonstrated this during his mission in mortality. For instance, in Matthew 21, Christ entered into the Temple grounds and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers and drove them out; he also cursed a fig tree that had not produced fruit. In Matthew 11:20-25 we learn that Christ cursed the three cities of Bethsaida, Korazim, and Capernaum because of their unbelief.
Elsewhere in the Bible, we read in Acts Chapter 5 that God struck down Ananias and Sapphira after they lied about having given all of certain proceeds to the Church when they had, in fact, withheld some of the funds for their own use.
Christ, as Jehovah, several times destroyed rebellious Israelites during the Exodus. For instance, in Numbers 16:20-35 we read of the deaths of 250 family members and followers of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram who were swallowed up in the earth. After the incident of the Golden Calf, Jehovah ordered the deaths of some 3,000 Israelites that had worshiped the idol. ( Exodus 32:26–28).
And, of course, we have the commandments to the Israelites to slaughter the Canaanites, Elisha summoning two bears to kill youths that were harassing and baiting him, the death of the man who reached out to stabilize the Ark of the Covenant, the 185,000 Assyrian soldiers killed by an angel of the Lord, the destruction of Sodom and the other cities of the plains, and many more instances where the Lord was intolerant of sinners and those that threatened his divine plan.
Perhaps the most famous in the LDS Church is, of course, Nephi being commanded to slay Laban to obtain the brass plates, with the angel explaining: "Behold the Lord slayeth the wicked to bring forth his righteous purposes. It is better that one man should perish than that a nation should dwindle and perish in unbelief." (1 Nephi 4:13).
You, on the other hand, appear to be one of those that would prefer that a nation dwindle and perish in unbelief.

ReplyDeleteI don't know if I've ever had someone as deceptive as you comment before. You are still trying to equate an act of civil disobedience with murder. You say that Nex Benedict was murdered even though the autopsy hasn't been performed and no determination made as to cause of death. Nex left the school after the fight with his/her mother who took him/her to a medical center, where he/she was examined and released to go home. He/she died the next day. Perhaps the cause of death was due to the fight; perhaps it was due to an injury occurring after the fight; perhaps it was due to a congenital health issue.
DeleteWe have no information on who started the fight. Perhaps Nex was the aggressor. Perhaps Nex's trans friend was the aggressor. But you just assume that it was the three girls at fault and Nex bore no responsibility. Why? Are you bigoted?
You say that Nex's death is a hate crime. But we have no information on what the fight was about. You assume it was because Nex was trans. Why? Because you are biased? Because it advances your narrative?
But while you are still on your high horse, let me remind you that six Christians were murdered at the Covenant School in Nashville by a trans person. We know from what little of her manifesto was leaked that it was a hate crime. This was after the Trans Radical Activist Network's call for a Trans Day of Vengeance. So who exactly is spewing hate?
