POTD: Staten Island's Abandoned Farm Colony

This photo is one of many from the Daily Mail's article: "From abandoned hospitals for the insane to creepy old forts: Incredible photographs capture forgotten New York in mesmerising style." According to the article, the building pictured above was part of Staten Island's abandoned Farm Colony. The author explains: "Built in 1898, it started off as a community vegetable growing project but it was abandoned in 1975. In the 1970s local children would go missing here and turn up in shallow graves on the colony - and it's said that past residents haunt the grounds." The article has photographs of other locations in and around New York City.
