• American Mercenary writes about "Military body armor and small arms" and how most military rifles--even the more powerful sniper rifles in .338 and .50--can only defeat SAPI plates at shorter ranges. As for services rifles, he suggests "don't bother trying to defeat the body armor with a service rifle. Aim for the hips and face."
• The Silicon Graybeard wonders "Is A Major Finanical Collapse Imminent?"
• SNAFU! notes that "Something weird is going on with the Chinese Stock Market..." Well, not that weird. China is an export driven economy, and so the value of Chinese stocks is very much a reflection of confidence (or lack thereof) in the economies of its largest trade partners--the E.U. and the U.S.
• "U.S. Air Force's most sophisticated stealth jet is beaten in dogfight by plane from 1970s." In a test between the F-16 and the F-35, the F-35 lost. While this may seem to you like a trillion dollars down the toilet, it is only because you do not understand the purpose of the U.S. military. While you may believe that the Department of Defense is supposed to protect the United States from foreign aggression, its primary role is actually procurement--the bigger and more expensive the weapon system, the better. The design of the F-35 is so flawed, the plane should be scrapped; but whatever happens, Congress will allot more money to replace or fix it. Thus, viewed from the perspective of the DOD's primary mission, the F-35 is an outstanding success.
• "Fifty teenagers storm Georgia Walmart at 2am causing thousands in damage and assaulting an elderly shopper for FUN." The instigator, Kharron Nathan Green, looks as though he could be Obama's son.
