Storms, Power Outages in California

From the Daily Mail:

  • Parts of Northern California are bracing for as much as a foot of rain over just two days as flights in San Francisco were already being delayed nearly 4 hours by Thursday morning
  • Dozens of schools canceled classes for Thursday in the San Francisco Bay area where thousands were without power at their homes as the storm landed
  • The storm brught hurricane force winds to the California coast in addition to its flooding rains and San Francisco had engineers standing by its iconic Golden Gate Bridge to ensure it weathered the 50MPH gusts
  • Most trains on the Bay Area Rapid Transit system, which carries 400,000 riders daily through tunnels under the bay and into the region's urban core of San Francisco, were delayed and two stations closed
More than 50,000 power outages were reported in the San Francisco area.
