Good Deal on Egyption AKM Parts Kits

If you are thinking of trying to build a 7.62x39mm AK, Atlantic Firearms currently has Egyptian Maadi parts kits for $219, which includes accessories such as an oil can, cleaning kit, magazine pouch and bayonet. (Obviously, you have to buy the barrel and receiver separately). They also have chrome-lined U.S. made barrels (with the gas port already drilled) available for $95. While this may not sound like a great deal at first glance, the day of $70 kits (with barrels) is long past--this is about as good as it gets anymore.

It is my understanding that these were kits exported by Egypt for the Serbian/Croatian conflicts, and so most of these kits are from brand new, never used weapons. Because they were manufactured for export, there is no guarantee that the kits will have Arabic markings. But, while there is no guarantee of matching serial numbers, the reports on the firearms boards from people that have ordered kits is that they have been receiving kits with matching parts.
