A story in two headlines:
- "Iran agrees not to build a nuke, will reopen Strait of Hormuz — and US to release $25B in assets in Trump peace deal: Tehran"--Daily Mail. This was from Iran, not another White House press release.
- And then later today: "Frustrated Trump says attack on Beirut 'should not have happened' as he warns Israel and Hezbollah not to 'blow' it after Netanyahu launches strikes on eve of deal again"--Daily Mail.
Time to unplug from them.

DeleteIsrael should not attempt to derail our agreements with Iran (however foolish). BUT we have no business entering into an agreement with Iran that binds Israel into stopping its attacks on Hamas and Hezbollah. That is their business, not ours. Imagine if some cartel in Mexico were to launch rockets into the US and Israel negotiated an agreement with Mexico that the US would not retaliate or destroy the cartels?
DeleteWe don't yet know what the agreement says or whether Israel has any obligations under the agreement. But, yes, Israel can do what it wants; and Israel can also face consequences for biting the hand that feeds it.
