From Atlas Obscura: "The Tale of the Vanishing Summer Camp Ghost Story" (2024). The article notes that "[a] 2015 study found that about a third of camps prohibit ghost stories, while only a fraction encourage them. Camp staff cite concerns over potentially traumatizing children and the desire to make camp fun rather than scary." It could have only gotten worse since then.
