VIDEO: Warning of "Bump" Carjackings

Police in Seattle area are warning of "bump" carjackings: carjackings that occur after a vehicle will bump into a car on the highway; then, when the victim stops his car, the armed carjackers jump out of their vehicle and force the victim out of his or her car, and take the car. In this case, the perpetrators were apparently teens, but no other description was provided, which is suggestive that they are POC.

  1. Only in unarmed or lightly armed areas.

Reminds me of the scam (90s?) where two cars acting together, the first would pull in front (closely) of a truck on the highway. The second car would then pull in front of the first car and slam on it's brakes causing a chain reaction. The occupants of the first car would collect medical expenses (paid in cash not reimbursements, CA IIRC). Nothing proven until they did it in front of a semi and the first car got squashed. The one survivor confessed to the scam. As I recall it was several groups from south of the border doing it.

Eventually this catches up with them.
