In the video below, Mark Mitchell, the head pollster for Rasmussan, goes over the polling data his firm has collected on Trump v. Harris and discusses competing polls. The basic takeaway, though, is that the polls saying that Harris has a sizable (3 or 4%) lead over Trump are misinformation. Rather, Trump is not only ahead overall, but there are systemic changes in Trump's popularity with certain demographics which suggest that he will remain ahead of Harris going into the election. I was impressed not only by that fact that Mitchell thought the other polls were so bad that he felt compelled to create this video, but they were so bad that he actually used the term "gaslighting" to describe them.

ReplyDeleteYes. Which is why we suddenly see many, many headlines touting some new "shock" poll showing Harris pulling ahead of Trump. Of course, it all comes down to who counts the votes, anyway.
