Multiple people were shot at an end of Ramadan (Eid al-Fitr) event near the 4700 block of Wyalusing Avenue, according to a Fox News affiliate in Philadelphia. The shooting was near the Philadelphia Masjid -- a local mosque. Over 1,000 people were believed to have been attending the event. Four people are in custody, according to this report, and multiple firearms have been recovered. Two people were taken to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center for treatment of gunshot wounds, one of which is considered a suspect; three other people later showed up a the same hospital with gunshot wounds. The incident apparently was a shootout between two groups.
From what I could determine, the area of the shooting was in the East Parkside neighborhood, which is 88.5% black. Another article indicated the shooting was in the Mill Creek area of Philadelphia, which is 85% black.
