AK Ammo Producer Enters U.S. Market

The Firearm Blog reports that a company called Tela Impex is beginning to import steel-cased 7.62x39 ammunition to the U.S. from a factory in Azerbaijan. According to the article (press release?) the company should also be importing 5.45x39 in the near future. The article has a couple links to sellers of the ammo. Price looks to be $429 for a case of 1,000 rounds plus $35 for shipping. Hopefully some increased competition will see prices go down. I have to admit, however, that the high prices caused me to get some brass to load my own rounds.

  1. Yup, that stuff isn't going to get cheaper. Sadly.
