New Hornady Products for 2020

The "Gear Scout" column at Military Times has a sneak peak at some new products being introduced or newly made available in 2020.

Hornady has a history of releasing new cartridges, but not making just the bullets available to hand-loaders. Some of this is because, I'm sure, that they have earmarked the bullets for their ammunition production because of anticipated demand or don't want "competition" with their new ammunition offering. Other times, it probably is the result of predicted demand. And sometimes I just can't figure it out. Case in point, Hornady has offered 5.45x39 mm (i.e., AK-74) ammunition for years, but not offered just the bullets to reloaders (at least, not to my knowledge). But this article indicates that in 2020, the company will finally be offering its 60 grain V-Max in 5.45 to the public.

"Yeah, (yawn) who cares?" you say. Well, okay. They have a lot of other products coming out as well, including new subsonic ammunition offerings in 9mm, .40 S&W, .30-30, 450 Bushmaster, and .45-70. They will also be releasing their Monoflex ammunition (a solid copper hollow-point with a polymer tip) for a variety of handgun calibers between 9mm and  460 S&W Mag.

Some other new ammunition offerings that caught my eye (but certainly not exhaustive) are 125 grain FMJ for .300 Blackout, and a 7.62X39 123 GR. HP Match.

A lot more there, so check it out.
