Why Would You Assume That?

Sherrilyn Ifill is the President and Director-Counsel of the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, Inc. (LDF) has expressed her opposition to arming school teachers, arguing that "Although the perpetrators of mass school shootings have been almost exclusively white, there’s little doubt that arming teachers will lead disproportionately to the killing — by teachers — of children of color." Why? Because she presumes, in her words, that such children are "recalcitrant." In other words, she thinks "children of color" will, through their misbehavior, drive teachers to kill them. And, again, I ask, why? Because that is what she would do?
