Here are a few sites on D-Day and the Normandy invasion that you might find interesting:

--The Military Factory has a page listing some of the weapons used in the battle.

--The National WWII Museum's page on D-Day.

--Wired Magazine has an article/slide show on the equipment and gadgets carried by American paratroopers (click on the photo of each type of equipment to get to the article).

--The British National Archives' site on Operation Overlord.

--And the Eisenhower Presidential Library has documents posted online relating to Operation Overlord and the D-Day invasion.
