From "West Coast, Messed Coast™ — Feds' HUGE Bust in 'Kingdom of Fraud' Leaves King Gavin Big Mad" by Victoria Taft:
An estimated $146 BILLION has been lost to fraud in California Medicaid spending and related programs since Gavin Newsom took office in 2019. According to independent investigator Chris Rufo, Newsom has lost 25% of California's Medicaid budget to fraud. This would mean it is currently losing $50 billion a year to scammers, fraudsters, and organized crime rings.
I'm not suggesting that any part of California, the government. managers or residents thereof,. should be excused in the slightest way for the massive amount of fraud conducted in the state, but shouldn't there be at least a modicum of responsibility on the part of the feds for doling out the huge sums of money and failing to monitor what happens to it?
ReplyDeleteSimple math - and I mean - "elementary school simple" - should have raised some sort of question about the per capita distributions; X dollars divided by Y persons and compared to population and economic strata numbers should have fostered some sort of question in someone's mind in D.C. about the efficacy of the distribution.
Seems more like an argument against any form or amount of distribution of federal monies beyond the minimum of what is Constutitionally authorized
And a huge portion has gone directly to the political machine.
