Something for those who like primitive or historical bushcrafting skills, or those interested in life in Medieval times. The noggin was a small wooden cup that can be used for drinking or measuring of approximately 1/3 cup capacity (or about a mouthful). The author notes that the "nog" was a liquid measure at one time, although he is not sure how "noggin" came to mean the head (although I wonder if was the liquid capacity of a person's skull cap if turned into a bowl, but perhaps I'm just macabre).
