VIDEO: The Nebra Sky Disk

Approximately 3,500 years ago, a bronze age society in what is now Germany created a bronze disk of the heavens embellished with gold, showing the sun or moon, a crescent moon, random stars, and a cluster of 7 stars believed to represent the Pleiades, whose appearance and disappearance marked the beginning and end of the farming year.  The disk may also have been used to calibrate solar and lunar years.
