Aussi Police Are Cowards: Change My Mind

The facts about the police lack of response to the Bondi Beach shooting gets worse and worse. As I noted yesterday, reports were that there were officers at the location of the shooting as it went down and they did nothing for up to 20 minutes. Meanwhile, Paul Joseph Watson reports in the video below that there was a police station only a 4 minute walk away. So there was no excuse for the police to delay taking action as long as they did.

I think there are two ways to look at this. The first is that the Australian police are cowards. Which makes sense because they were so obviously bullies when it came to anyone that violated Covid lock downs or refused the vaccine; and being a bully and being a coward often go hand-in-hand. It is, after all, much different to beat up an average, peaceful civilian versus going after someone who is mentally and physically prepared to take a life.

The other possibility is that the police intentionally allowed the killings--where ordered to not take any action. We've seen this in some shootings in the U.S., such as the Uvalde incident, where police wait until the killer has shot as many victims as he or she probably could before intervening. Why would I think this? Because despite this being a shooting by violent Muslim immigrants, the officials have pushed three themes: (i) warning the public not to share videos from the shooting because they want the public to only see what has gone through the government filters; (ii) using this as an excuse to crack down on right wing extremism (which has nothing to do with this shooting); and (iii) pushing for even more stringing gun control (probably using draft legislation that has been sitting in the wings for just such an event). It appears that their intent is to go after anyone that might stand up to the government and say "no" even if it is something as benign as posting a few memes or showing video of what "the police will protect you" looks like.
