Another Method Of Discrete Carry For The Office

As I've noted many times before, there is a big difference between concealed carry when you can wear a jacket, a loose T-shirt, an untucked Hawaiian shirt, baggy trousers or shorts, etc., and having to wear business attire or a uniform with a tucked in shirt and slacks. That is why most ads and videos for a concealed carry holster or system use some guy (or gal) dressed in a loose, dark T-shirt not tucked into the waist band.

But there are systems out there that will work for concealment even in the office environment. Some of the better solutions use a separate belt or support system that is worn beneath the clothes so there are no clips showing and the weapon is carried in such a way that it won't print.  The method demonstrated in this video is one such system. The author uses a Comfort Concealment Blackout Belt (MSRP $46) from Eclipse Holsters that that he fits underneath his clothes to which he attached his holster. His shirt, slacks, and regular belt then went on over all of this. The key advantage to this that I see is that you can use your standard belt holster--it just goes on the inside belt instead of the outside belt--but you could switch back to just using it on a regular belt if dressed more casually. The producer of this video used an AIWB holster but it apparently can be paired with a standard strong side IWB holster.

He also indicates that he has used this system with gym shorts, so it may be an option for the person wanting to carry while jogging or when going to the gym. In fact, the manufacturer's video on how to use the belt shows a man and woman using it with exercise clothing, and a couple of the other videos from the manufacturer indicate that it was intended to be used with exercise clothing for use in sports and exercise activities.

I've been using the SmartCarry holster with good success in the office environment, so I doubt that I will be trying this out. But this is another system that offers an alternative to the more expensive Enigma.
