The Daily Mail has the details. Weathers was a professional football player, but shot to fame playing the character Apollo Creed in four Rocky films as well as starring alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger in the first Predator film where he played the CIA spook, Colonel Al Dillon. He most recently had a role in several episodes of The Mandalorian as well as directing a couple episodes of the latter show (notable because they were more tightly written stories than episodes from most of the other directors used in the series).
He was hilarious in Arrested Development.
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen it, but I would believe it. I've never understood how good actors like Washington and Weathers could be passed over for someone like Jackson.
