- "Melting ice reveals dozens of 7,000-year-old artifacts in Canada. Take a look"--Miami Herald via Yahoo. So if human artifacts were covered by ice 7,000 years ago, doesn't that mean that it was warmer 7,000+ years ago?
- "The Arctic permafrost is 1,000 years old. As it thaws, scientists worry what it might unleash"--USA Today. So if the permafrost only formed 1,000 years ago, doesn't that mean it was warmer 1,000 years ago?
Shhhhhhh
ReplyDeleteI was watching a documentary on the collapse of the Late Bronze Age and among the illustrations and graphs was a temperature chart ostensibly to show that there was a sudden drop in global temperatures coinciding with a decades long drought throughout the Mediterranean and Near East about the time of the collapse; but it also showed that temperatures prior to that cold snap were higher than modern times.
