Philly Police Officer Killed, Partner Injured, After Shootout With Car Thieves

Another incident involving a group of criminals working together. According to the Daily Mail article about the incident, the officer and his partner had arrived to work their shift at the Philadelphia International Airport when they encountered a group of men trying to steal a car. When the pair approached the group, at least two of the thieves pulled firearms and started shooting at the officers.

Shortly after the shooting, a 18-year-old teenage was dropped off by a private vehicle at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, where he was pronounced dead.

Stanford has not confirmed how the individual died and if they were involved with the shooting, but said there is a 'good possibility'.

'We can't confirm at this point in time whether or not that individual is involved,' Stanford said.

'We don't know. It's a good possibility. Very similar to the suspect description but that's something we can't confirm at this point. We're still investigating.'

And from the AP:

Police said suspects in the shooting fled in a stolen Dodger Durango, which was being sought, the Philadelphia Inquirer reported. The same model of car dropped off an 18-year-old man at the hospital. He had two gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead there, the paper said.

That person was “very similar to the suspect description,” but investigators hadn’t confirmed his involvement, Stanford said.

Neither article relates a description of the suspects, which, itself, suggests that it was the usual suspects.

    A CBS affiliate also reported

District Attorney Larry Krasner sent a statement mentioning the high number of guns in the U.S.

"Law enforcement across multiple agencies are working continuously to identify those responsible -- without the ability to quickly match ballistics on scene to a firearm that can be traced via database to point of regulated sale and owner, all because gun-crazy politicians serve the NRA's bloody agenda instead of serving and protecting the public," Krasner's statement said. "America has more guns than people, thanks to the same gun-crazy politicians who oppose commonsense gun regulations."

Yup, had nothing to do with the violent criminals who committed the crime. And of course a database would work because criminals never steal guns! Oh, the article mentions: "Sources say a gun from one of the officers is missing." Oops. Krasner's comments about gun control is especially moronic given what happened to his defenseless co-religionists this past weekend when Hamas launched their attacks into Israel.

  1. I'm sure they'll be released because of (spins wheel) systematic racism.
