Exploring practical methods for preparing for the end times, including analysis of end time scripture and prophecy, current events, prepping and self-defense.
"A Boy And His 22" by Shawn at Loose Rounds. A nostalgic look back to when boys could be boys, and it was perfectly reasonable for a boy to go on his own into the woods or an old dump to shoot vermin.
"An Enemy Foreign And Domestic" by Bob Owens at Bearing Arms. Following up on the Garland incident, Owens suggests that the compact handgun most concealed carry license holders use for thwarting a mugger may not be enough to counter a couple of terrorists armed with rifles; he suggests a full size duty pistol. Conversely, at The Truth About Guns, Robert Farago, in "Guns for Beginners: Why It’s OK to Buy a Sub-Compact Gun for Concealed Carry," writes that having a small gun that you carry is better than a large gun that you do not. I don't know if they were intended to published in tandem, but in a separate article--"Question of the Day: How Many Rounds Do You Carry?"-- Farago suggests that round limitations can be worked around by changing your tactics, stating:
It doesn’t matter how many rounds of what size you carry as long as you adjust your strategy accordingly.
Thirty-eight caliber five-round snubbie? Run-up to the bad guy, stick it in his or her ribs and pull the trigger. Or take a couple of quick shots at bad breath distance and run away as fast as you can. Striker-fired high-capacity nine? Let loose a few rounds now (aimed suppressive fire?), a few rounds later (where needed) and precision shots as and when. Eight-round .45 caliber 1911? Take aimed, precision shots from the word go. In all cases, carry a spare mag.
