"Peer-Seeking Webcam Reveals the Security Dangers of Internet Things"--Newstack

An article warning about "the internet of things" (IoT) devices secretly spying on users of the devices. Case in point is a security camera manufactured by a Chinese firm, Foscom, that uses peer-to-peer networking to send information over the internet and link up to the firm's servers: problem being, the feature is not disclosed in the product literature, there is no way to effectively disable the feature, and because it is designed to bypass firewalls when sending data, it opens you to a cyber-attack.
