Thank G-d For Gun Control: Tory MP David Amess Stabbed To Death

Back when England was more civilized (i.e., the late 19th and early 20th centuries), gentlemen would typically have carried a small handgun in a pocket for protection or apprehension of such blackhearts. Anyway, The Daily Mail reports:

Conservative MP Sir David Amess has been murdered today after being stabbed 'multiple times' by a 25-year-old killer who sprinted into a church and knifed him to death during his weekly constituency surgery.

The Tory MP for Southend West, 69, was meeting locals at the Belfairs Methodist Church, in Eastwood Road North, Leigh-on-Sea, when his attacker ran into the building wielding a knife before attacking the veteran politician at just after midday.

Paramedics worked to save the politician on the floor of a Essex church for more than an hour but he could not be saved after the appalling attack ....

And what is it with treating him at the scene instead of transporting him to a hospital emergency department for surgery? Looking at a Google map of the area, there were two hospitals within a couple mile radius: the Chartwell Hospital and the Southend University Hospital. And it looks like Leigh-on-Sea was approximately 30 miles or so from London, so they could have easily gotten him to a large hospital within the hour even if they had to transport him by road rather than by helicopter. They completely wasted the "golden hour".

  1. The two separate accounts that I read pointedly did not "name" the attacker.
    Hmmmm?

  2. Vox Day reports that the killer was a Somali immigrant. DIEversity strikes again.

  3. Yes. The BBC is also reporting that "A government source told the BBC the man arrested is a British national who, according to initial inquiries, is of Somali heritage." (https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-58930593)
