You may have already read or heard about a former Navy nuclear engineer Jonathan Toebbe, and his wife, Diana, having been arrested for attempting to secret information to an unidentified foreign country concerning American nuclear submarines (see this Daily Mail article). Forbes reports that Toebbe served in the Navy from 2012 to 2020 and was a nuclear engineer in the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program. He not only had access to detailed information concerning the Virginia Class attack submarines, but his "LinkedIn profile also states that he was a 'technical lead' on the design of the Columbia-class nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarine, possibly the most sensitive procurement program currently being undertaken by the U.S. Navy."
Figuring out that there must have been some motivation other than the $100,000 he was promised as payment, I dug around a bit. Finally I hit pay dirt. This article from Sportskeeda included a link to a local news station about the Toebbes' arrest, including lots of video of the their house. One of the comments indicated that there was a Black Lives Matter sign and, sure enough, at about the 1:15 mark, you can see the sign. (Video below).
