Red Dot's Better for Handguns?

The Firearms Blog reports on a Norwich University study that concluded that a red-dot site was better for using a handgun over iron sites. All I can say is "duh." It reduces the time needed to align sights, and you can focus on your target instead of the front sight blade. What would have been useful is a comparison of the efficacy of the red-dot versus a laser sight on a handgun.
