A Quick Run Around the Web--May 4, 2015

Some self-defense and/or shooting articles, in no particular order:

  • Traveling to Paris soon? The Parisian police and city government have published a guide called "Paris Safely" to help make your trip a bit safer. The guide, in various languages, can be downloaded here. (H/t Protegor).
  • "Breaking The Punching Arm" from Shafer's Self-Defense Corner, or why you don't want to let you elbow fly out when you are preparing to deliver a punch.
  • You may remember my recent post concerning appendix carry, which mentions an article by Darren LaSorte at the NRA website criticizing the technique. Well, Todd Green responds to LaSort's article: "An All or Nothing Example: AIWB by Darren LaSorte."
  • "The Future of the Military Assault Rifle" by Jim Schaltz at the Small Arms Defense Journal. A long article discussing some of the shortcoming of 5.56 mm and AR platform (which the author basically sets down to range and ability to lay down sustained suppressive fire).
  • Finally, not an article but a graphic showing the difference between 7.62 NATO and .308 Winchester from Shooting with Hobie:
